We have managed to secure a bag pack to help kick off the Kandersteg 2015 funds. This will be at Sainsburys, Kingsgate, East Kilbride. We have been informed that it will be a busy day so we hope for as much support from Scouts, Cubs, Explorers and parents as possible.

Shifts will be of 2 hours each and we ask that you contact your section leader on or before Friday 22nd November. More information can be found in the downloads section

Please note there is still time to sign up for the Kanderseg Adventure. Please ask your section leader for a letter and form. Also anyone can attend the fundraising even if you are not planning to attend Kandersteg.

During the first part of the evening you will watch a demonstration, then you will make your own wreath. After this, seasonal refreshments will be served and you will have the opportunity to socialise and compare your unique decoration.

Meggernie 2013 photos now online

Our 20th visit to Meggernie Outdoor centre was possibly one of our best yet. An action packed weekend, filled with a huge range of activities; gorge walking, pentathlon, wide game, campfire, overnight hiking, trading post, cafe walk and more. One of the highlights was our Meggernie 20th Year Banquet, held in a transformed barn. A great night, and another great weekend for the scouts, explorers, and leaders who went along. The photos are available now, from the gallery.

We made this little video to celebrate our 20th year of visiting Meggernie Outdoor Centre. We showed it at a special celebratory banquet we held when we visited the centre last weekend. We were lucky enough to find some old photos and footage from the 95-98 era. Take a look!

Should have uploaded this one a while ago, but better late than never. Take a look at what the Explorer Scouts got up to when they attended the Ice Factor earlier this year. The video can be viewed on our Vimeo feed, or from the Gallery.

Meggernie 2013 - Our 20th Anniversary!

This September, 27th to 30th, we are going back to Meggernie Outdoor Centre. This is always great news, and one of the highlights of our scouting calendar, but this year is a bit special.

It's 20 years since Meggernie opened its doors as a newly refurbish centre for Scouts in the Meggernie Estate, and 20 years since the 185 Group made its first visit. We were one of the very first groups to use the centre, and have returned every year since.

So this year our trip to Meggernie will be even better than usual, and in addition to our normal activities, we have some fantastic 20th Anniversary plans in place.

Places will be very limited, so sign up today. Permission forms can be found on the downloads page.

Leadership Changes

We would like to announce some adult Leadership changes for the start of the new Scouting session. After many years as Group Scout Leader of the 185, Eric Donnelly will be moving on to take the role of District Commissioner. Eric’s leadership of the group has played a key role in making it the success it is today. We wish him all the very best as DC.

We are very pleased to announce that Robbie Gibson will replace Eric as the new Group Scout Leader. Robbie has had many years as an adult Leader with the 185, including the last five as the Scout Leader.

Neil Brown will become the new Scout Leader. Neil has also been an active leader for many years, in both the Cub and Scout Sections.

We wish Robbie, Neil and Eric all the best in their new roles.
