Scouts visit STV Studios

This month the Scout Troop had a fantastic opportunity to complete part of their Meteorologist badge by visiting ace STV weatherman Sean Batty, at STV studios in Glasgow. The Scouts were privileged not only to get expert tuition about the weather, but also received a tour of the studios. Meggernie 2012 Photos

Another year, another visit to our favourite Scout Centre in beautiful Glen Lyon. Weather amazing this year round, crunchy frost in the morning, stunning sun during the day and a crystal clear starry night. This year’s event had a weekend long theme with the teams building points all the way through the the final wide game on Monday morning. Photos can be found in the Gallery.

New session begins August 24th

After a long summer break, and an action packed summer camp to Hawkhirst National Activity Centre, on Kielder Water - the new session starts soon. All sections will meet at usual times on Friday August 24th. Pop back over the coming weeks to see the new programmes added to the section pages.

2012 Summer camp photos now online

It was a week of mixed weather, a muddy campground, and a billion midges. But it was also a week of amazing activities, including canoeing, climbing, mountain biking and sailing. Two highlights were our overnight canoe trip, and a visit to Kielder Observatory. Photos can be found in the gallery.

185 Scouts meet Bear Grylls

Some members of the Scout Troop were lucky enough to meet Chief Scout Bear Grylls during his recent visit to Scotland. The Troop were camping at Auchnegillan and some of them took the opportunity to get up close and personal with the adventuring TV presenter.
