Meggernie photos now online

Stunning weather for most of the weekend marked another great trip to Meggernie Outdoor Centre, at Bridge of Balgie, Glen Lyon. We had our usual activities, including Gorge Walking, search and rescue, and pioneering. Making its second outing, was our tremendous wide-game, Operation Green Zone. Although we had some mini-bus failures, the weekend was still a great success!

This year’s summer camp for Scouts and Explorers was held at Gilwell Scout Park near London. Despite some pretty ropey weather, the camp was an excellent mix of activities, topped off by a day in London for sightseeing and a trip to Shrek The Musical!

Chief Scout Award success for Cubs

10 of the Cubs recently gained their Silver Chief Scouts Award which was presented by Simon McGrory from the Scottish HQ Cub Support Team.

The Cubs worked really hard for their Awards completing 6 Challenge Badges, going to camp, and taking part in many activities within the Pack.

A huge well done to Ross, Logan, Andrew, Andrew, Lewis, Lewis, Tom, Naomi, Sophie, and Nicola, who have now moved onto the Scout Section.

Beaver Football competition

This weekend 13 beavers from the Colony took park in South East District football competition along with a almost 100 other Beavers from the District.

We had two teams  which entered the competition, and although we didn’t win, the Beavers all enjoyed the games and some nice sunny weather also helped!

Fund-raising update

The Parents Committee would like to thank everyone in the group who contributed to our baking sale. We made over £100 which will go towards group funds.

We hope each family within the group, recently received a “Body Shop at Home” fund raiser form. If you have more than one child in the group we are only asking you to try and fill one form. We ask that these forms and the money you have raised are returned by our next baking date Friday 25 March 2011.

Our next bag-packing event will be on Saturday 23rd April. More details to follow, but please keep a few hours in your diary clear to help out.

Thank you again for all your support. The leadership team really appreciate the money we are able to raise and our young people will benefit from the replacement camping equipment that our fundraising has enabled them to purchase.

If you are interested in assisting us in fundraising please do not hesitate to chat to one of the Leaders of members of the Parents Committee.
